CHENNAI: These are exciting times for India batsman and Chennai Super Kings' new recruit Ambati Rayudu. The 32-year-old batsman, who was a regular in the Mumbai Indians unit over the years, will don the yellows for the first time in his IPL career.
"Coming to CSK and playing for such a champion side is really exciting. We have a great set up. Getting into the IPL, I would like to be at my best in terms of my performances and hopefully it contributes to the team's win," Rayudu said on Thursday.
For someone who has always been a floater in the batting order, Rayudu said he isn't particularly focussing on any slot to bat under skipper MS Dhoni.

"I'm not really looking at the number or slot. Once the camp starts and things get in order, we will start looking at roles. I am not looking (or thinking) about national comeback. I had a good domestic season for Hyderabad. I'm happy to be part of CSK and looking forward to do well," he added.
Rayudu, who has been one of key figures in the Mumbai Indians' dug out, says he is ready to handle the pressure with the new franchisee.
"I have handled enough pressure. Everyone knows what pressure is and each have their own way of handling it. I don't think there is much difference in the cricketing side of things. Both (Mumbai and CSk) are great teams and the team which wants to win more on that day will win," he added.
On his former Mumbai Indians teammate
Harbhajan Singh who is also part of CSK squad, Rayudu feels that the former is still a match winner. "I am sure he is still a match winner. He has shoes of his own and I don't think he has to fill anyone's shoes. Even last year the way he bowled was amazing. He is a top-class bowler and I don't think you can compare him to anyone (on replacing Ashwin in CSK team)," he added.
